Be an "Explorer" for the Day!

Fri, Nov 13, 2015 at 10:00AM

When I moved to Brevard County nearly two months ago from Georgia, one of the first spots I visited was the Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral. Standing majestically in the heart of the Port, the Exploration Tower is truly an experience you will forever remember. As you enter the building, you are immediately greeted by staff members anxiously awaiting to help you navigate through the facility. The seven story museum is arranged as follows:

1st floor: Guest Information, Cafe, and Shop
2nd floor: Port Origins and Fragile Environment
3rd floor: Leisure and Recreation Theatre
4th floor: Meetings and Events
5th floor: Navigating Port Canaveral
6th floor: Air and Space Port
7th floor: Outdoor Observation Deck

This is the only place along the Space Coast where you can try your hand at navigating a ship into the port, stand inches away from space memorabilia, have your picture taken wrangling an alligator over 100 feet in the air, and walk away snacking on freeze dried Neapolitan ice cream. Whether you only have only a few hours, or a few days, the Exploration Tower is a great bang for your buck and sure to leave you wanting to come back and visit the next time you are in town. On your way out don't forget to sign in at the Chamber kiosk. We like to keep track of where all of our visitors are from!
