One thing a lot of people don't know about me is that when I was in high school in Georgia, I played five sports (basketball, tennis, golf, cross country, and track). I was by no means the Jordan Spieth of golf, but I had fun and that is one of the main reasons why I joined the team. After high school I didn't pick up a club except for the "once in a blue moon" trip to the driving range. I can now say that after participating in this past weekend's Chamber Marathon golf tournament held at Duran Golf Club in Viera, my passion for the sport has been reignited! The event was very well put together with 30 golfers hitting the par 3 course at the start of the morning. The course was beautiful and despite a dreary forecast, the weather held out long enough for my grouping to finish the final hole just as the rain began. The lunch provided was also amazing! For not playing in several years, I was proud that I was able to make par on several of the holes despite losing a ball or two, but that happens to the best of us. This event was truly a treat and I look forward to participating in more community golf events down the road. Thank you to the Chamber, Duran Golf Club, and all of the sponsors and donors for putting on a truly, wonderful event.
Until next time,
