May is Tourism Awareness Month and the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) couldn't be more excited to celebrate it! With an average of over 14,000 visitors walking through our door each year, the CVB knows first hand the importance of its tourists.
Tourism is a leading industry for the State of Florida and continues to be a crucial part of the Space Coast economy. According to preliminary estimates released this week by VISIT FLORIDA, 26.7 million visitors came to Florida in the first quarter of 2014 (January-March), an increase of 2.0 percent over the same period in 2013. This represents the largest quarter for visitation Florida has ever experienced.
In 2013, the CVB alone had well over 12,000 visitors come through its door and aims to see that number increase with all the exciting activities taking place this year. With world renowned beaches and a flare for excitement, this summer is sure to be a successful one, bringing in visitors from all over the globe to bask in our area's beauty.
Happy Tourism Awareness month!
